Letting go of the Princess

When my little girls were 3 they absolutely loved the Disney princesses.  

Of course they would, right?

So I decided to give them their own fairytale room.

And I spent many days and long nights drawing out and then painting in this

And it became such a signature of their room.

 I loved what I was able to create for them.

And they loved their castle

But now, they are 10.

And it's me who is having a hard time letting go of those little girls,

 my sweet princesses

See what I mean.

But the princesses have decided that's too babyish for them now,

and I agree.....

Yet, I'm having a hard time letting go of the castle wall.

I mean. I PAINTED it myself!   I'm proud of my wall mural.

But, Mom, we are 10

Yes, I know,  so do I paint over it?  Or try and be creative and cover it some how?

I need to make my mind up because I think they want their room painted in a purple rocker girl color.

Maybe I need to just sleep under the castle wall and soak in the remember whens

 and then shake my head in disbelief.

I can't believe these years are flying by...... Yeah, they really do
