Walt Disney World Fantasyland Expansion

Walt Disney World executives have released new details about the largest expansion ever at the Magic Kingdom park. Ground breaking will begin in 2010 and the Fantasyland construction project is expected to last for three years. The results of such an expansion will take guests into the Disney fairy tales like never before, and be able to encounter the magical world of the Disney princesses and more. Three princesses will each have their own themed village within a Fantasyland Forest. At Dreams Come True, guests can meet Cinderella in her country chateau, share a dance with her or even train to be one of her Royal Knights. At Briar Rose’s cottage, everyone will be invited to join in a surprise celebration for Aurora as the three good fairies throw a Sweet 16 birthday party for the Sleeping Beauty.

Over in Belle’s father’s cottage, an enchanted mirror will be able to transport guests to Beast’s castle. While at Beast’s castle there will be an enchanting storytelling performance during Enchanted Tales with Belle. Also at Beast’s castle, guests will be able to dine in one of three enchanted dining rooms at the new Be Our Guest Restaurant. And just outside the castle in Belle’s village will be Gaston’s Tavern. It even promises to have “antlers in all of the decorating”. (just as the song Gaston sings in the movie says)

Ariel and her friends will have a new ride-through attraction called, Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid. This new ride promises to entertain guests as they go through scenes from the popular movie and feature some of the favorite songs.

Doubling the size of the classic attraction, the big top comes to Dumbo’s Flying Circus, as guests will be able to take a flight high above the new circus grounds. Also planned is a new interactive, three-ring circus tent structure where guests can play midway styled games and have other fun filled experiences.
